Equip a thruster weapon and boost weapon on the same loadout with lots of add boost and thrust. Then you dash and jump right at the end of the dash. It's the exact same as in 5.

what's with the dialogue, anyway? I know the whole "haha they look like humans thing" is funny but from what I'm told in the original Japanese the story is taken more seriously, yet they still call the bugs "monsters" and the frogs "human like"

>In either weapon slot, equip left hand with a dash boost weapon (Any CC weapon except power blade, or arm hound missile) and the right hand with a jump boost weapon (power blade, HAIL missile, any autocannon, any cannon except for hand cannon, gallic, heavy mortar and powerdyne, ). Can swap hands if you prefer.
>Equip your highest "level dash" cell and "add booster" for reinforcement parts. Multichargers are less efficient, but you can take it if you need some other QoL part for your weapons. Do not take convertible parts.
>To perform a dash jump and go fast, equip your dash+boost weapon slot, then use dash boost (default keys Left Shift if left hand, Space if right hand) then jump boost immediately after (the other default key). You can repeat this as many times as you'd like until you run out of boosts. Jump boosts fully recharge after a few seconds, but dash boosts seem to recharge as soon as you can walk normally again.
>Starting fencers are relatively slow due to limited boost number and power, but hardest/inferno fencers can dart around the map very easily.
>DLC Fencers however, can equip two ridiculously high walk speed exoskeletons to go fast without needing boosters.- EDF

ty anon. am guessing fencer starts out relatively slow at the beginning until I start getting the good stuff (only on mission 9 hard after completing game with WD)

If you're on solo you can just get the higher level dash cell/add boost to not suffer, though playing astronaut ranger with dual gatling+mortars with add boost+gunner exoskeleton is quite fun itself.

Having to throw mortars as AR is enough of a downside, I don't know why they have such a ridiculous delay before the mortars start firing. You either have to git gud predicting the enemy's movements or waste a mortar throw that only kills the back end of a horde.

Get a howitzer then. It's like a cheaper phobos always in the form of a big red circle.
In solo yeah, online nada, also the delay and the smoke signal accuracy kinda sh*t
>smoke signal accuracy kinda sh*t
That's why I said they should have an aoe indicator too like fencer's mortars or ranger's grenades.

I think the intended balance is that mortars and artillery are very powerful and densely packed for a low cost, but they're hard to get on-target. I agree they're a little too annoying to use and often just take the spritefall instead. If they were either just a bit more easy to aim, or actually struck the target zone just a bit faster, I'd use them much more often.

How the frick are you supposed to do Operation Ring-Cracker 2 with Ranger?
I can get to the rainbow gun phase but even throwing out a tank to use as cover/to pick up health drops doesn't help because of how fast the cannons blow through health.
And this is just on hard, I can't even imagine the nightmare it must be on inferno.- Anonymous

Railguns will be your friend, pair them with your best Sniper Rifle, Lysander of Fang and alternate your shots - railgun - rifle - railgun -rifle, the cannons give a decent amount of points so you should be able to get lots of railguns out. As for the chaff use whatever you like best. Bring the heal grenades and save them for the last stage with the BS yellow pew pew cannons and rainbow cannons. Or just get an Air Raider with Spritefall and Bulge Laser to carry you.

On hard I used the lvl 39 volatile grenade launcher to snipe the turrets from the edge of the map with a reverse bomber just in case. If you take out the closer tendrils first you'll get a relatively safe area to pick off the rest of them.

In 5 if you have a boost and a dash weapon equipped, press both of the buttons at once and it gives you a super jump that will toss you around the map. it's a whole animation and it looks different than just pressing boost or just dash by itself. idk if it works in 4.1 or 6 yet but that's legit the fastest fencer movement in 5. make sure to get cores or whatever that give you more boosts and more dashes and you can frick off around the map in a few jumps

An easier way to fast is to use the axe weapons, unleash a fully charged attack while in the air and you'll fly forwards.

I just tried this and it worked. It was funny, but Glaucos went so far out of bounds I couldn't see it anymore. When I forcibly reloaded the vtuber decoy, it was so deep in the ocean I had to wait almost a minute for it to suddenly reappear from the depths. It's now stuck underneath the map, but most of its body still sticks out above the surface as it swims through the ground like a giant flaming land shark.
Perhaps this could be a strategy to allow other classes in multiplayer to use their powerful close-range weapons on what is usually a long-range boss.

hide under the bridges and cheese it. Much easier online with two people if you have an air raider calling in whale and another class to fend off the dragons who get inside the cover.

Forgive me, It's been a while since I've played 4.1, so I'm testing the mission with Great Shield and Blasthole. Yeah, looks like ~4k likely won't cut it without luck being on your side. Monster Party is one of THOSE missions that are just plain butt-fricking hard.
If you want a rather safe and almost surefire way of clearing it, I would recommend trying the hammers again, preferably the D model for the extra range, but make sure you're using pic related bridge at the far left of the map relative to spawn by going along the canal. It allows the dragons to pile up around you without (most of) them being able to hit you because you're nice and snug underneath it. Ignore the npcs and make sure you can reliably aggro the dragons without getting too far from your little hole, like FGX HAIL--the nonhammer set you bring won't matter outside of pulling so consider twinspear+HAIL just to make it faster at the start. If you keep the hammer combo going properly they won't be able to grab you. Beware of being knocked out of the hidey-hole, that's about the most unfortunate thing that could happen to you with this method. Credit where it's due, this strategy is stolen from another person and I had to use it myself years ago to get through the mission lmao.

dual arcanes. The lower level high altitudes are still decent for clearing swarms of flying type insects, but they lockon really slowly even with stars and do less overall damage. Arcanes lockon/shoot/reload cycle is faster and more consistent fire vs high altitiude volleys and have a bigger AoE, doing more individual damage. So it's good at both clearing big swarms of enemies and punching through groups of stronger individuals like ayys. The large AoE also means you can even kill groups of krull very easily when they all cluster up.
